The Sheikh family guide us through some of the rituals and daily routines associated with these principles, such as answering the call to prayer, gift-giving and Quran lessons. Imran Mogra, RE lecturer at the University of Central England in Birmingham, explains that Islam is a way of life. He suggests that primary teachers should begin by finding what their children know already about being a Muslim, then use everyday practices like prayer and special festivals to help children to understand Islam. Using the agreed syllabus as a framework to plan lessons, teachers can then develop a knowledge and understanding of the religion. | ||
